Frames and mount information and fitting guidelines.

All frames are made from solid wood and built to Gallery grade standards. They are bespoke built frames ensuring that they are perfectly matched to your prints. The frames are supplied with an acid free window mount and under mount which will be colour matched. The heavy duty backing board ensures the prints avoid any creasing or bending damage giving the frame a rigid support.

The mounts are acid free and standard colour options are as follows :

  • White

  • Cloud white. (Off-white)

  • Ivory

  • Black

  • Charcoal

  • Ebony

** Please note that there is a huge range of colour options available for both mounts and frames not listed above, just contact me should you require a specific colour or style.**

Sizing your prints for framing.

All prints will have the option of being supplied with solid wood frames fitted with art glass and acid free mounts.

The measurements you see on this website is the print dimensions only. To help you get an accurate overall size, two things you need to consider -

  1. The size of the mount (inside border ) Examples -

Picture sizes where the longest dimension is below 12”, consider having a mount size of approx 1 to 1.5 inches, anything below might feel like the image has no breathing space.

Image sizes where the longest dimension is above 18”, size your mount somewhere between 1.5” - 3”

Finally Image sizes where the longest dimension is above 24”, try a mount of 3” or above.

2. The frame size, this can vary greatly but a high percentage of contemporary frames sizes have a border width between 1.5” - 2.5”

So putting all above together if you have a picture size for example of  12” X 18”. and you select a mount with a 1.5” border and adding a frame of 1.5” width the total frame size will be 18” x 24”

Note that the following is based on standard frame configurations, as with all art you can choose and size to whatever you feel looks best to you. Just contact me and I will get your order made to your exact dimensions.
